Lima night out

We went to a dinner theatre that presented Peruvian folk dancing. Although the description of the dances were in Spanish, some of them were quite understandable. The men's dance was explained the next day by our guide.
We called it the "macho dance" because the men dance with shearing scissors in one hand, clinking the handles like castonets. Meanwhile, they were doing crazy stunts, like dancing on their toes, performing gymnastic type moves, bouncing off the floor their backs, knees, heads, doing flips etc. Al the while having clinking these large shearing scissors. Our guide told us it is a "right of passage for young men in the highlands" They challange themselves with these dance moves.
There were also African dances from the 17th century as the Conquistadors brought African slaves with them. Barrie did a little folk dancing too.
