We landed at the Cusco airport, got on our bus and headed into the city. We drove through main street and out the other side as we were headed for our hotel at Urabamba. We will return to Cusco in a few days.
On the way out of town we stopped at a family owned Alpaca business. Beautiful things.
1. Skin of a vicuña. Oh so soft and silky
2, 6, 7, 8 The Alpaca store
3. Cusco Airport
4. Our bus
5. A sacred stone in the Alpaca shop. While there the lights went out. They said it is not the electricity but the work of this spirit stone. It is upstairs in the shop and they bring it offerings. No one seemed the least bit surprised and when they couldn't charge our groups purchases they told them just to take the items (and a sweater cost $120-150) with them and come back and pay when we return to Cusco.
No I did not buy the gray sweater.
